Dettelbach is not only an attractive location from an economic point of view, the town in the Main-Franconia region offers an equally high quality of life: from the unique scenic location to the picturesque historic old town and an extensive range of supply and leisure facilities for the whole family. For those who like to be sporty, cycling or walking is the best option. Due to the Main cycle path and themed hiking trails, Dettelbach is both a starting point for weekend excursions and a popular destination for tourists. The nearby Münsterschwarzach monastery and the Schwanberg mountain invite you to go hiking or simply to enjoy the view. In summer, the Main River and its outlets as well as small quarry lakes attract visitors for fishing, swimming or paddling.

Where is Dettelbach actually?

In the north-west of Bavaria, between the River Main and the idyllic vineyards of Lower Franconia, and right in the district of Kitzingen, lies the town of Dettelbach. In addition to the actual town centre with its 3,500 inhabitants, several other suburbs bring the total number of inhabitants up to about 7,000. Those looking for a change from rural tranquillity can immerse themselves in Bavarian city life within a very short time. With a distance of about 15 km from Dettelbach to Würzburg, 25 km to Schweinfurt and 90 km to Nuremberg, the town belongs to the metropolitan region of Nuremberg and connects to the cities both via the well-developed highway network and by public transport. Famous sights such as the Würzburg Residence, the Imperial Castle, the Albrecht Dürer House or the world-famous Nuremberg Christmas Market welcome visitors here.

A Place to Feel Good

Especially summer provides a good insight into Lower Franconian tradition with the various wine and village festivals in the area and in the many restaurants serving typical Franconian dishes. Throughout the year, the region attracts visitors with cultural attractions such as museums, churches and castles or with events in the culture and communication centre and in the Maintal Hall. Two kindergartens in the village provide day-care. A primary school and different secondary schools, one of them with a public indoor swimming pool, are also available. High schools and university are not far away in Kitzingen or Münsterschwarzach and in Würzburg. A youth club offers a wide range of leisure activities. The lively club life opens up further opportunities, such as football, handball, water guard, judo and equestrian sports. The Lindner company supports the annual NORIT Cup, in which many young players from major national league clubs play against clubs from the surrounding area.
