The former Kommerzbank-Tower in Frankfurt shines in new splendour as the Global Tower and sets an example for sustainability and innovation in the workplace. Lindner realised part of the interior fit-out for this project - with a particular focus on the environment.

A Monument Becomes Fit for the Future

As part of a refurbishment, the Commerzbank headquarters from 1974 was transformed into an innovative office complex. Today, the high-rise building, known as the Global Tower, offers state-of-the-art work and recreation areas for companies and their employees. In order to enable the modernisation and reorganisation of the space, special consideration had to be given to listed elements during the revitalisation of the 30 floors. This also included the façade, which was completely renovated to make it more energy-efficient.

Professional Modernisation

The Lindner Group was commissioned with the fit-out of the eighth floor during the core refurbishment: Numerous floor, ceiling and wall divisions as well as the Lindner Leuchtenfabrik and Ausbau Mitte-Ost contributed their expertise. A wide range of products and systems were used, from dry construction work to the installation of floors and ceiling systems to high-quality wooden doors from our own production. These contribute to the modern appearance of the office building: Lindner raised floors allow the building technology to be concealed in the floor, so that no compromises had to be made in terms of the appearance and functionality of the workspaces. Flexible glass system partitions provide both transparency and acoustic shielding, creating an open room design and the necessary privacy. High-quality wooden doors manufactured in-house as well as joinery, plastering and painting work round off the fit-out package.

Outlook for a Green Office Future

With sustainable fit-out systems and advanced building technology, the high-rise building sets a milestone in the development of green office properties: Heated/chilled ceiling systems from Lindner ensure particularly energy-efficient comfort in the interior spaces. In combination with a sophisticated lighting concept with Luminaires from Lindner Leuchtenfabrik the building also makes a significant contribution to increasing energy efficiency and protecting the climate. The desired DGNB Platinum certification was recently submitted for review.

The Global Tower is therefore a prime example of how old buildings can be given a new life and adapt to the conditions of a modern working environment.
