With the goal of putting people at the centre and creating a future-oriented healthcare infrastructure, a new eight-storey cantonal hospital was built in Baden following the principles of “Healing Architecture.” This concept seamlessly integrates infrastructural and operational processes into the building, ensuring an optimal spatial atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff. A well-thought-out combination of lighting, colours, materials, acoustics, and intuitive routing significantly contributes to psychological well-being, making this “hospital of the future” a pioneering achievement in modern healthcare architecture.
What started with a single trade in wall glazing evolved into a full-scale interior fit-out, thanks to the expertise and compelling consultancy by the Swiss branch of the Lindner Group’s.
Natural daylight and a calm, welcoming atmosphere are essential in a modern hospital. That’s why glass partition walls like the Lindner Life Freeze 137 and the soundproof Lindner Life Stereo 125 were installed, enhancing both transparency and acoustic comfort. Natural materials also play a key role - wooden elements with a slatted structure on guiding walls create a warm and pleasant ambiance in lecture halls and corridors. Doors in various designs, from wood and glass doors to automatic sliding doors, seamlessly combine functionality with aesthetics, making everyday life easier for both patients and the staff.
The ceiling solutions also reflect the highest quality standards: EI 60/EI 30 fire protection ceilings in the corridors ensure safety, while suspended MUTE+® skin acoustic absorbers provide optimal sound control. A true highlight, in every sense of the word, is the custom-designed LED lighting, seamlessly integrated into different corridor metal ceilings to create a optimal balanced lighting atmosphere. Custom-designed furniture for check-in and check-out areas, as well as coffee bars, complete the contemporary design concept. In technical rooms, Lindner raised floors provide ideal conditions and ample space for various installations, including electrical wiring and power supply systems.
