The Heidelberg Congress Centre (HCC) – designed and realised by Degelo Architekten – is a state-of-the-art conference and event venue in a prime location, situated directly opposite the main railway station. Spanning three levels, it offers a flexible spatial concept that provides optimal conditions for conferences, meetings, seminars, exhibitions, and cultural events. With a capacity of around 3,800 participants and cutting-edge technical equipment, the HCC is perfectly suited for both national and international events.
Lindner Interior Fit-out and Furnishings played a key role in the high-quality interior fittings of the HCC – particularly in the area of doors. A total of 57 door elements were installed within twelve multi-part door systems. These were finished with UV-lacquered elm tree real wood veneer, blending seamlessly into the wall panelling and exposed concrete surfaces. The door systems also meet fire and smoke protection as well as sound insulation requirements.
Additionally, three large-format wooden gates were installed, with widths of up to 4,750 mm and heights of 3,500 mm.
The greatest challenge was the precise manufacturing and exact, flush-fitting installation of the coupled door elements. Some of these elements were fitted on one side with acoustically activated, veneered overlays. All doors and gates are equipped with hold-open systems, ensuring the highest standards of safety and convenience.
