Following the takeover of the existing 5-star hotel of the Kempinski Group at Munich Airport by the Hilton Group, Flughafen München GmbH, as the building owner, decided to extend the existing hotel on the basis of a planning by the architectural office Murphy & Jahn from 2009 for a building wing with 162 rooms and an office floor. The planned building is a 7-storey building, there are hotel rooms on 6 levels and a ground floor with office space and the technical facilities required for building operation. The façade is implemented with two facade types, in the area of the hotel rooms as element façade, in the area of the general areas and the technical areas as a point-fixed façade.
The Lindner Fassaden GmbH was commissioned with the construction of the facade of the extension. In addition to the element and point-fixed façade areas, movable sunshades and F30 internal glazings have been installed.
