The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has over 22,000 employees in around 120 countries worldwide. Its focus is on education and sustainable development. For this purpose, GIZ expanded its corporate headquarters in Bonn in 2019 with a new six-storey building that provides 850 new jobs on an area of 28,000 m². According to the company’s goal, sustainability played a very important role in the planning of the building. Equally, space was to be created for appreciative encounters and creative collaboration. In accordance with the high ecological and socio-ecological requirements, a DGNB Gold certification was aimed for from the outset.
The new administration building impresses with a sensible, modern room structure, generous communication areas and social rooms as well as an auditorium with 500 seats. Lindner Objektdesign and the Fit-out Division for Central-Eastern Germany developed, delivered and installed numerous special solutions as well as high-quality ceiling and wall coverings, e.g. in the entrance area, canteens and tea kitchens as well as in the auditorium. Further office and working areas were equipped with sustainable and energy-efficient Lindner system products for ceilings, floors and partitions.
