Library of Birmingham

The Library of Birmingham is one of the most important urban renewal projects in Europe. The total investment volume for its construction amounts to 188.8 Pounds. The Library was opened in September 2013, becoming the largest regional library in Europe. Over 400,000 books are stored there. Amongst the most valuable items is a Shakespeare collection with originals from 1623. The library is open seven days a week and more than 3 million visitors are expected per year. One of the reasons for the high number of visitors is the remarkable interior and exterior design of the library. The Library has already become one of the most popular attractions in Birmingham.

In close cooperation with the architect and construction management, Lindner Façades has built the impressive façade of the Library. The façade consists of a unitised façade and aluminium rings which partly have a diameter of up to 6,5 meters. This distinctive design made the Library known and famous in the world of architecture.
