Munch Museum

The Munch Museum is a new art museum in Oslo that exhibits the works of the famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. Not only thanks to its central location in the Bjørvika district, has the museum been welcoming numerous tourists and art lovers since its opening in 2021: The building impresses with extraordinary works of art and modern architecture. The characteristic vertical form with 13 storeys and a height of 60 m is an urban eye-catcher even from the outside.

The Munch museum is a milestone in the formation of today's Lindner Scandinavia. The façade is covered with undulating perforated aluminum panels that create different effects of light and shadow, depending on the weather and the time of day. The core team of Lindner Scandinavia was supplying the complete building envelope including glass façades, solid panel systems covering the concrete shafts, sedum roofs as well as all the undulating panels. In this process, the team designed and installed an unitized façade system with composite profiles for the front façade, which consist of a 25 m high vertical base section that inclines outward in a 20 m section with a 7 m overhang. The 4018 undulating perforated panels were delivered by Lindner SE based on the core team’s design. Also, the further cooperation was secured: Lindner Scandinavia was able to acquire a service contract with the museum and started with the first glass replacement in summer 2023.
