In only two years, a highly modern control centre for the power grid of Baden-Württemberg was constructed in Wendlingen am Neckar. This centre of the operator TransnetBW is responsible for controlling the power supply in Baden-Württemberg around the clock. Through this main control centre, TransnetBW prepares the way for the energy revolution while guaranteeing power supply for about eleven million people. The project required an investment volume of about € 50 mn; about 100 specialists work in this building.
Lindner AG contributed numerous works to the interior fit-out of the control centre. The performance area Floor Systems included large quantities of hollow floors; raised floors have been installed both as standalone areas and as channels through hollow floor areas. They were used whenever a heightened occurence of pipes and other installations in order to facilitate maintenance works. The scope of works also included Lindner Glass Partitions of the types Lindner Life Stereo 125 and Lindner Life Pure 620 with integrated absorbers for improved room acoustics. The hallways have been partially fitted with corridor ceilings of type LMD-E. The performance spectrum also included doors and gate systems, also with the specification for heightened security measures that wery required by the sensitive nature of this instrastructure project. In regard of the area steel construction, the project required complex custom constructions, particularly the accessible viewing screen of the control centre and several staircases.
