Garching near Munich has become one of the most important centres for natural and technical sciences in Europe in recent years. In addition to the Technical University of Munich, industrial partners have also settled on the campus to promote joint research and put it into practice. A renowned technology company has built its own research building for this purpose: On 13,000 m² of space, state-of-the-art research facilities can be found in variably usable rooms, some of which are up to 5,000 m² in size. This includes an auditorium as well as flexible “workshops” and laboratories, as well as classic office and meeting spaces.
In order to achieve maximum flexibility in room design and technical equipment, the Lindner Click & Load installation grid was chosen as a suspension system for lights, mobile power outlets, and building services. The patented support system made of lightweight aluminium profiles can be flexibly adjusted and easily installed with little effort, while simultaneously boasting high load-bearing capacities. Click & Load can also be easily combined with other room partition systems, such as the Lindner Life Freeze and Life Pure glass partition walls in 3.50 m full height versions, combined with glass and wooden doors as well as further solid wall systems from Lindner.
In addition to flexibility, sustainability plays an important role in the building. This is also reflected in the goal of achieving LEED Gold certification. Here too, Lindner can contribute its many years of expertise in sustainable construction.
