In 1996, Cacao Barry and Callebaut merged to become the world's largest chocolate producer and can now look back on 175 years of chocolate tradition combined with unique know-how and innovative spirit for chocolate and cocoa products. For this, a new headquarters has now been built in Zurich, which both represents the company culture and creates a direct link to the production. In close cooperation with the architects Evolution Design, Lindner SE and its branch office in Opfikon created a modern and comfortable working environment on three floors of the new building, which was completed at the end of 2021.
In addition to mobile partitions, plasterboard supports and plasterboard walls, Lindner installed a total of 228 pairs of glazing and 412 solid wall elements as well as glass and wooden doors. Meeting rooms, separated by rounded Lindner Life Freeze 137 partition systems with black glazing frames and bonding, provide visual eye-catchers.
The glass walls in the structural glazing look not only visually match the room and design concept, they also have a high level of sound insulation. With the help of electric blinds integrated in the space between the panes, they ensure discretion and privacy in the otherwise open working environment. The glass partitions are complemented by the Lindner Logic Metal and Logic Timber solid wall systems, which harmonise perfectly with the natural textiles and materials such as cork, moss and even recycled cocoa shells as flooring.
Thanks to the excellent cooperation of all parties involved, an innovative workplace concept in a healthy, productive and pleasant atmosphere was implemented for the Barry Callebaut employees after only half a year of construction.
