Lindner products have always been designed to fulfil their intended tasks, and beyond that, to be especially durable and resource-efficient. Now we are even going one step further. By following the Cradle to Cradle Certified® principle, we can consider the entire life cycle of products and their components. Our goal is to avoid waste from the very beginning, meaning that products are designed in a way that they can serve as raw materials for the next generation of the same product – a closed technical cycle.
Although this may sound simple, it is actually a challenge for complex system products which contain many different components made from all kinds of materials.
Thanks to continuous efforts in research and development, Lindner has laid the foundations for continuous manufacture. NORTEC is its pioneering product. The carrier panel for this raised floor is produced from FGD gypsum, processed water, and cellulose fibres at the Lindner facility in Dettelbach, Germany. Building on the knowledge gained from a Life-Cycle Assessment according to ISO 14040/44 and the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) according to ISO 14025, NORTEC could be further enhanced to be awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver certificate as the first system floor worldwide.
