Campus Taunus Sparkasse

As part of the modernisation of the Taunus Sparkasse campus in Bad Homburg, particular attention was paid to the renovation of the facades. The polygonal steel post-and-beam facades were in an unacceptable condition due to weathering and age-related wear, which led to a focus on improving airtightness and protecting against penetrating moisture. The goal of the project was to enhance the building's exterior in terms of efficiency and aesthetics, without altering its characteristic appearance.

Lindner Building Envelope undertook the facade renovation with the utmost precision and expertise. Firstly, the external sun protection systems were dismantled, re-cabled, and re-installed. Additionally, the horizontal and vertical pressure plates, as well as the cladding panels, were removed and fitted with new ventilation and drainage openings. The cable entries were carefully sealed using PG fittings.

Insulating glass, insert elements, and glass panels were thoroughly cleaned to remove deposits and ensure optimal functionality. To improve the internal glass seals at critical points – such as T-joints, open expansion joints, and sword penetrations – these were sealed with an EPDM sealant. Finally, the junctions and facade elements were insulated with durable butyl tape and EPDM sealant to reliably protect the facade from weather influences and extend its lifespan.
