The Bergson Kunstkraftwerk, a former heating power station from the year 1937, has evolved into a vibrant cultural mega-project in the west of Munich. The conversion into a cultural centre was carried out carefully, paying special attention to preserving the building's historical context and character. Today, the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk is a lively hub for art and music enthusiasts. It brings together high culture and subculture, cuisine and art, all under one roof, creating unique and inspiring spaces.
For Lindner, the project involved the expansion of various areas, such as the concert hall, the foyer, and the jazz cellar. Special attention was given to the concert hall, where the Lindner Interior Fit-out and Furnishings team installed custom-made wall sound absorbers, concert hall seating, and acoustically effective steel wall cladding. These elements combine functionality with aesthetic sophistication, not only significantly improving the room's acoustics but also creating an elegant and timeless atmosphere.
Additionally, the concert hall was equipped with the FLOOR and more® arena raised floor system, which can be configured in different heights and tiered levels. It ensures safety through its non-combustible calcium sulphate panels.
In other areas of the Kunstkraftwerk, such as the foyer and the jazz cellar, Lindner's sound absorbers and wall claddings were also used to create optimal acoustic conditions.
