1. We also kindly request that you refrain from smoking out of consideration for the guests who will follow you in the house.
    
2. If you like to do some gardening please feel free to do so. Generally a gardener takes care of the garden once a month.
    
3. Please do not use the garden chairs outside our property, e.g. at the beach.

Parking in front of the house is rarely possible.

Tip: Free overnight parking is available on St. Catharines Road (towards Glenageary train station) from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

There is waste separation in Dublin.

The waste bins will be emptied on early Thusday morning (see collection calendar).

Green bin: Clean waste paper, card board, plastic waste, tetra packs, tins.
We kindly ask you to compress plastic bottles and tetra packs to save space. Dates of clearance of the green bin can be found enclosed.

Brown bin: For biodegradable waste which includes food and garden oranic waste.

Black bin: residual waste.
The charges for clearance of the black bin depend on the weight of the content but there is also a lump-sum for every clearance. Therefore please only place the black bin for clearance on the pavement if you think it is sufficiently full.

Please dispose glass in the glass container on the way to the DART station Sandycove opposite the church (Eden Park). 

Please keep in mind before your departure: The cleaning service will arrive on Friday, your departure day, around 10 a.m. to prepare the house for the next guests. Please vacate the house by 10 a.m. at the latest, to allow enough time for the cleaning. We very much appreciate your support by leaving the residence in a tidy condition.

• Especially the bathroom and kitchen – stove, refrigerator and tableware – should be cleaned. Please empty the refrigerator and waste bins and vacuum clean / sweep the floor.
• Even if it is well-intentioned, please do NOT leave any food or drinks! The cleaning staff is instructed to dispose of all food items. Exceptions: salt, pepper, sugar, and spices.
• Please turn the radiator thermostat to the frost protection symbol *. In summer you can turn it off completely.
• Remember to close all windows.
• Please remove the beddings.

In Dublin, no tourist tax is levied.

Heating

Please do not adjust the settings on the heating time clock. Heating times are set for 6am to 10 am (morning) and 6 pm to 10 pm (evening).
If heating is needed outside of these times, just press the boost button, once for 1 hour or twice for 2 hours.
If no heating is needed, just turn the room stat down to 10 degrees (frost setting).

The hot water is instantaneous and is available 24/7.

Under no circumstances light any of the room fires, as these chimneys are no longer in use and the fire would spread to the room.. 

Electricity

The main control switch for the electric circuit can be found above the main door.

To lock the patio door in the kitchen, follow these steps:

1. Move the door handle upwards.
2. Turn the key.
3. Move the door handle back down.

At Home / In the House

• Ensure that the gas appliances are turned off.
• Do not smoke or use open flames.
• Do not unplug or switch any electrical appliances on or off.
• Open windows and doors to allow the gas to dissipate.
• If your appliances are turned off but the smell persists, turn off the gas at the meter.

On the Street

If you smell gas on the street, immediately call the 24-hour emergency number 1 850 20 50 50. Do not assume someone else will call. If you cannot get through, call 999 or 112.

Do not use a phone that is near the leak. Go to a neighbor or call from outside. In the interest of public safety, all emergency calls are recorded.

Please leave a note for the caretaker, preferably on the dining table.

Please report any damage immediately, e.g. broken coffee machine, so that the guests after you, can also enjoy their stay.
