The construction industry is considered the most waste-intensive sector of the economy: around 50 % of waste generation and 40 % of CO2 emissions in the European Union can be attributed to the construction industry. In addition, there is the issue of raw material scarcity and resource waste. Climate-conscious construction, sustainable living, working, and promoting a circular economy are therefore becoming increasingly important.
With these considerations in mind, we have been developing and manufacturing our own construction products for decades, ensuring the use of environmentally safe raw materials, careful resource management, and keeping our production sites up to date with energy-efficient technologies and machinery. Lindner thus offers a unique range for complete interior fit-out, from raised and hollow floor systems to decorative wall coverings, acoustically effective partition walls, as well as wooden and glass doors, and fire-resistant ceiling systems.
To make it easier for you to find the right product for your sustainable construction project, we have developed the Green Level classification.
In doing so, we selected three categories — circularity, Cradle to Cradle Certified®, and life cycle assessment — as criteria for evaluating the sustainability of our products. By using products and systems that can be planned and built with circularity in mind, valuable resources can be conserved. Cradle to Cradle Certified® distinguishes the capability for circularity. Additionally, the greenhouse gases generated must not be overlooked, which is why key figures are established through life cycle assessments.
To avoid waste and save resources and emissions, the circular reuse of products and materials after the end of their service life is an essential milestone.
The goal of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® product standard is to promote products that contribute to a healthy, equitable, and sustainable future. Therefore, in addition to circularity, the standard also evaluates the health safety of the ingredients, the use of renewable energy and water, as well as the social fairness of the company.
The overall rating is based on the lowest individual rating among the categories.
Our certified products meet at least the "Silver" standard. Through ongoing research and development, we have already achieved our first Gold certifications.
Life cycle assessments (LCAs) reveal the environmental impacts of a specific product throughout its life cycle, from raw material extraction through use to reuse, recycling, or disposal.
By using the life cycle assessment data of building products, it is possible to create a life cycle assessment for a building.
