In 2023, the Lindner Group continued its sustainability strategy with yet another significant step: by using 63.07 tonnes of Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium for the Lindner Life Stereo 125 wall profile, an impressive 290 tonnes of CO2e emissions were saved. From the supplied material a total of 6,600 linear metres of the eco-friendly wall system were produced.
For this successful implementation, Lindner was awarded a sustainability certificate by Hydro – a recognition of its commitment to a greener future.
Facades with Responsibility
The Facade division also received a sustainability certificate: the ECO_N facade system reduces CO₂ emissions by an impressive 40 % compared to conventional aluminium facades. This result is achieved through a combination of Low-Carbon Aluminium and wooden modules. Already during the production of the aluminium, the environmental impact is minimised through the use of renewable energy sources. The strategically effective use of wood compensates for a higher aluminium content in the system and, due to the CO2-neutrality of the wood, further reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium: Partner for Sustainable Solutions
Hydro, a Norwegian company focused on aluminium and renewable energy, offers Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium – environmentally friendly aluminium products made from recycled aluminium. These products are produced with minimal CO₂ emissions and using renewable energy, in contrast to primary aluminium. Additionally, the Low-Carbon Aluminium contains a high proportion of post-consumer scrap, further reducing CO₂ emissions. Thanks to its high traceability, Low-Carbon Aluminium enables companies like Lindner to achieve sustainability goals without compromising on material quality.
Green Vision, Smart Solutions
For Lindner, sustainability means combining ecology and economics. Ultimately, what matters is that developers achieve the most with their budget – whether through an improved CO₂ balance, higher material efficiency, or reduced life-cycle costs. By carefully selecting the type of Low-Carbon Aluminium and partnering with strong partners like Hydro, Lindner supports the implementation of individual priorities.
To further promote climate-conscious construction and increase the use of environmentally friendly materials, Lindner is focusing on partnerships with various suppliers and manufacturers of Low-Carbon Aluminium – for the construction industry of tomorrow.
