Xazar Centre is BP´s new headquarters for their operations in the Caspian Sea region. The 14-storey, 28,000 m² building provides space for a staff of 2,200 that was relocated from various offices in the region.
Lindner was chosen as the general contractor responsible for the interior fit-out of the building. The project was characterized by a very short construction period of only about one year and a half for a contract value of ca. $52 million. Within days of the signing of the contract, a substantial and capable project team was put together that included staff of Lindner Group as well as external and local partners. In total, the project management team for construction works and building services counted a staff of up to 110 persons. About 700 fitters were employed in two-shift operation. The logistics also posed several challenges. Most of the material needed to be imported from Europe or Asia. At the same time, most transports had to be arranged just in time due to the lack of storage facilities on site. Despite a large number of amendments during the execution, the building was handed over in early 2014 to the fully satisfied customer.
