Providing educational infrastructure in an early stage for developing quarters is an important concern for the city of Munich. One of these projects was the new construction of the elementary school Gustl-Bayrhammer-Straße at the district centre in Freiham, a new city quarter west of Munich. It was finished in due time for the school year 2017/2018. One particularity of the building is the architonical implemenation of Munich´s Learning Centre concept. These Centres each consist of four class roms, rooms for all-day care as well as staff rooms for the teachers. Apart from the elementary school, the building also houses a nursery, a kindergarten, canteen as well as a dual sports hall.
Part of the modern and well-illuminated design of the building are Lindner fire protection doors which also also provide compliance with the demands on fire, smoke and noise protection of the German regulations for school construction. FLOOR and more® hollow floor was installed on a large scale, further improving fire protection. This biogically harmless construction material also allows the hiding of technical installations in the floor void, which was another advantage that led to the choice for this system.
