The area around King´s Cross has seen some major redevelopment over recent years, King´s Cross R7 being a prime example. It features 155,079 square feet net on 11 floors, with a ground floor and mezzanine levels reserved for a cinema as well as retail and restaurant space. The upper floors are taken up by adjustable office spaces. A communal roof terrace tops the building off, providing a striking view over the district. The building´s appearance is characterized by two shades of pink and a large number of vertical fins. This allows for harmonious differentiation in the architectural environment of King´s Cross, which factored into the building´s certification BREEAM Outstanding.
Lindner Facades Ltd took part in the construction of King´s Cross R7, having been contracted for the design, production and installation of the building´s facade. The facade is a fully unitised factory-made curtain wall system with rainscreen cladding and fins, the scope also includes balustrades which frame each of the building´s terraces and skygardens. Efficient management ensured the successful completion of the project on programme and within budget.
