Since 1949, the Maximilianeum placed in the Munich district of Haidhausen is the domicile of the Bavarian Parliament. Numerous redevelopment measures took place in order to adapt the historic building to requirements of a modern parliament building. The library of the Bavarian Parliament is situated in the basement of the old building and serves as information for members of the parliament, parliamentary groups and parliamentary administration. For a comprehensive renovation of the library, the architects and the client decided on Plafotherm® heated/chilled ceilings in special execution. The challenge of the renovation was to find a suitable solution for the old building according to the requirement “antique look in modern guise”.
