Iconic New City Law School building, which will act as the focal point for the faculty.
In addition to staff offices, a new lecture theatre, law library, and specialist recording rooms, the facility includes a mock courtroom as well as a pro-bono law clinic open to the public.
The client's principle objective was to achieve a sustainability rating of BREEAM 'excellent' and Lindner's factory-bonded stone Nortec panel, with its well-known sustainability and recyclability track record was selected for the ground floor.
Lindner installed all the floor and plenum barriers on a bespoke substructure over highly congested services, adding to the complexity of the build with respect to the air leakage criteria.
In keeping with such technical innovations as ground source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels on the roof, the flooring also underwent rigorous on-site air-leakage testing in order that the plenum heating could work at optimum efficiency.
