Fire Protection and Sound Insulation with Lindner Wooden Doors
The complex of the Vaterstetten primary and secondary school is divided into three three-storey buildings: the classrooms are supplemented by rooms for lunchtime and all-day supervision, subject-related rooms and laboratories. Lindner realised the customised built-in and seating furniture and wall claddings.
In addition, almost 250 interior wooden doors were made to fit exactly: In the corridors there are fire protection doors in solid oak wood frame construction with glazing on the sides. These are designed in fire protection class T 30 and are each equipped with an arrest system. They are also automatically linked to the school’s central fire protection system. The classroom doors – also made of wood with a real oak veneer – have a door leaf thickness of 68 mm for optimal sound insulation.
Functional Furnishing
In the classrooms, the door reveals were designed flush with the side walls of the cabinets. The ventilation outlets for the ventilation system were also discreetly integrated into the reveals. At the front of the cabinet systems made of white HPL décor, suspension rails offer space for mobile information boards or serve as additional presentation space. In the "marketplaces" in front of the classrooms, these suspension systems can be found at the front of the real wood veneered wall cabinets and wall cladding. Seating and work niches loosen up the space and offer visual axes into the classrooms through fixed glazing. Perforated wooden slats close off to the ceiling to improve acoustics.
Special Designs for a Special Learning Atmosphere
Lindner also realised built-in partition walls, wall claddings and doors on the ground floor as well as customised mobile partition wall solutions: if required, the music rooms can be opened up to the assembly hall and additional space or a stage for events can be created. To support the acoustics and provide sound insulation in the assembly hall and music rooms, the partition walls were designed to be acoustically effective with Rw,P 55 dB. The real wood-veneered Lindner FIREwood wall panels in class A2 (noncombustible) were used in the entrance area and in the assembly hall.
