Press Release

The new ‘Construction Products and Processes’ degree programme will move into the GiB Research and Development Centre. It is planned that the university will also be able to use GiB's existing laboratory facilities in connection with research projects.

The construction industry is currently evolving in many respects and so are the study programmes on offer. For this reason, we have created a completely new degree programme in Building Products and Processes in close cooperation with the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (THD).

The hybrid programme structure of engineering and management with the bilingual lecture concept is unique in this form in Germany. The two key areas of product development and project management are also aligned with the megatrends of digitalisation and sustainability.

In connection with this new degree programme, the university will also be renting space in the GiB-FEZ (515 m² in total) from 1.11.22 in order to be able to carry out the necessary internships for the students. New laboratories for building physics analyses such as fire, sound, heat, indoor air, etc. and a CAD-BIM-LAB will be created here. It is also planned that the university will be able to use GiB's existing laboratory facilities in connection with research projects.

We have strongly supported this new degree programme from the outset and actively contributed to its design, as it represents a further building block for future GiB trainees. The degree programme will certainly generate future employees for the Research & Development/Product Management and Project Management departments.
