In 2017, the expansion of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt was initiated: Therefore, the so-called City Campus became a new part of the UAS on the site of the former Carmelite monastery in the middle of the old town. With its new, architecturally striking knowledge tower, the City Campus not only includes lecture and reading rooms, a cafeteria and a (public) library, but also a modern start-up centre with a coworking space and a science lab.
The adjacent monastery was harmoniously integrated into the new UAS building and offers additional training rooms and lecture halls. Thus, Wiener Neustadt UAS has not only expanded its range of courses, but offers space for another approx. 1,400 students.
Thanks to the professional interior design, Lindner GmbH succeeded in combining the historical appearance of the monastery with the modern features of the new building. Therefore, the former prayer room of the monastery was transformed into another impressive teaching hall with historical charm. Lindner's services also included the extension of the connecting corridor between the monastery and the new building. In addition to the installation of Lindner metal canopy ceilings, acoustically effective heated and chilled ceiling systems, raised floor systems, grandstands and other Lindner products, the company was also commissioned with the complete interior fit-out.
